Acrylic rims offer a warm approach to that cold outdoor weather and provide a hypoallergenic rim for those who are sensitive to metals, whether silver, gold, or nickel.  

The small bore tenor trombone models include:

  • 5: 1.024"/26.01mm
  • 5.5: 1.019"/25.88mm
  • 6: 1.014"/25.76mm
  • 6.5: 1.004"/25.50mm
  • 7: 0.980"/24.89mm
  • 9: 0.975"/24.77mm
  • 11: 0.970"/24.64mm

Each of these are available in two different rim profile configurations:

  • C  The "C" rim is our classic trombone rim, with a pronounced bite and relatively flat profile.  The classic feel will allow for instant response and crisp articulations.
  • R  Our "R" rim features a rounded rim profile with a softer bite.  The rounded rim profile offers a slightly wider feel, with a little more relief entering the cup, allowing for increased flexibility in all registers.

This is the rim portion of our two piece mouthpiece system - match up with our separate corresponding screw underparts, available in regular and light weight standard models, and regular and light weight lead models.

Cleaning & Care

To keep your acrylic mouthpiece looking brand new and not fracturing:

  • Do not drop or otherwise hit the mouthpiece - it will fracture!
  • Wash with warm water and soap, both inside and out.
  • Do not overtighten your backbore to the mouthpiece top
  • Apply very light slide grease to the threads
