The Pickett Small Bore Lightweight Lead Tenor Underpart pairs a very shallow lead cup with a compact backbore for a focused, efficient response in lead and commercial playing. The lighter blank feels easier to move and has a brighter response than our standard-weight version.
Choose your size
All seven sizes use the L lead cup configuration. Choose the diameter that matches your preferred small-bore rim; larger model numbers indicate smaller diameters within this range.

The 5L is the largest diameter in this range. The 5.5L, 6L, and 6.5L provide progressively smaller choices, followed by the compact 7L and 9L. The 11L is the smallest diameter offered.

Rim compatibility and finish
This is an underpart for our two-piece small-bore trombone mouthpiece system, not a complete mouthpiece. Pair it with a separately purchased Pickett small-bore brass rim or acrylic rim. Match the rim number to the underpart number: for example, a size 6.5 rim fits the 6.5L underpart. Corresponding rims fit both standard-weight and lightweight underparts.
