Made in the USA
This Ophicleide mouthpiece was developed as a collaboration between Peter Pickett and Richard Demy by comparing period trombone and ophicleide mouthpieces from the 1860s to modern trombone mouthpieces. This resulting mouthpiece mimics the same evolutionary changes that trombone mouthpieces underwent, but unlike trombone mouthpieces, it retains the dimensions that are needed for the instrument to play in tune and have a centered tone. It allows period and reproduction instruments to match volume and blend with modern brass instruments. Retaining the characteristic timbre and articulation of the ophicleide, it has a clear and consistent tone at all of the ophicleide's volumes and ranges.
