S.E. Shires Large-Shank Trombone Mouthpieces
Choose a large-shank mouthpiece for your tenor or bass trombone with the diameter, cup, and throat combination that suits your playing. This range includes both instrument types, so begin with the appropriate group below, then compare the measurements with your current setup.
How to Choose:
- Diameter: Compare the measured inner diameter rather than relying on the model number alone. Models sharing a number can have different dimensions.
- Cup depth: Compare medium, medium-deep, deep, and extra-deep options within your preferred size.
- Cup shape: The Shires chart identifies C and V–C shapes; these are separate from cup-depth designations.
- Throat: Compare this dimension alongside diameter and cup design when evaluating response.
