The Pickett Brass 1-Piece Eb Soprano Cornet Mouthpiece is designed to meet the unique demands of one of the most challenging instruments in the brass family. Combining our renowned rim designs with carefully engineered cup profiles and throat configurations, this specialized mouthpiece provides the comfort, efficiency, and control needed to perform confidently in the demanding upper register while maintaining the warm, characteristic sound of the cornet.

Developed through years of firsthand Eb soprano cornet playing experience and collaboration with accomplished musicians, our design focuses on balancing ease of playing, endurance, tonal beauty, and projection. The soprano cornet must soar above the brass band with clarity and brilliance while retaining enough warmth and depth to blend with the ensemble. Our Eb cornet mouthpieces are designed to help players achieve that balance without unnecessary physical effort.

At the heart of the design is the comfortable, familiar Pickett Brass rim, paired with specially developed cup configurations that allow players to tailor their sound and playing resistance. Our deeper V-shaped cup design emphasizes a full, rich cornet sound rather than the brighter, more trumpet-like character often associated with shallow soprano mouthpieces. Shallower configurations provide additional brilliance, efficiency, and support for players who prefer a more compact, resistant setup.

With five available cup configurations, players can choose the combination that best complements their instrument, embouchure, and musical demands:

• Standard (27 throat): A fuller, more traditional cornet sound with a rich tonal character.
• MS – Medium Shallow (27 throat): A versatile balance of warmth, brilliance, and playing efficiency.
• S – Shallow (27 throat): A brighter, more compact playing experience with increased tonal presence.
• VS – Very Shallow (30 throat): Added resistance and support for players seeking greater efficiency in demanding upper-register passages.
• VvS – Very Very Shallow (30 throat): Our shallowest configuration, offering a highly compact, resistant setup for players who prefer maximum support and efficiency.

The smaller #30 throat available in our shallowest configurations provides additional compression and resistance, allowing players to work with the mouthpiece rather than against it. This can be particularly beneficial during extended brass band performances where endurance, consistency, and reliable upper-register response are essential.

Designed and manufactured in Lexington, Kentucky, every Pickett mouthpiece is precision-machined using our proprietary CAD/CAM technology, meticulously hand-finished, and individually inspected to ensure exceptional quality and consistency.
