Made in the USA
The Blackburn 313 Ambronze trumpet bell is a hand-finished, professional-grade bell built from Blackburn’s A20 or A24 ambronze alloy and designed to install on instruments for an immediate tonal upgrade. It keeps the Blackburn voice-big, focused core with a quick, responsive attack-while adding a warm, richly colored midrange and strong projection that helps solo lines sing through the ensemble. Players report the 313 Ambronze bell gives excellent dynamic range and tonal flexibility across registers, with a feel that responds cleanly to subtle changes in articulation and air. Offers a wider sound profile than the Blackburn 213 bell.
Blackburn’s long time use of ambronze for the 313 series reflects instrument-maker preference for bronze-family alloys when a darker, darker timbre and increased projection are desired: Ambronze sits in the tin-brasses family of copper-based alloys and is prized for its high-copper character and the resulting warmth, clarity of overtones, and robustness under heavy playing. Compared with typical yellow brass bells, ambronze bells emphasize a broader tonal colors and a slightly darker profile that many orchestral and solo players seek when they want both blend and presence.
